Sabrina Johnson Top Porn Star

English (not Scottish) porn star Sabrina Johnson was last interviewed by AVN several years ago, when her husband Graham had just been released from a nine-month jail sentence for "living off immoral earnings" and they were getting ready to move their residence to Belgium.

Sabrina and Graham were back in Porn Valley recently and chatted with AVN Senior Associate Editor Tod Hunter about what's happened in their lives since. Among other things, they've started a new gonzo series for Elegant Angel, and Sabrina is putting the finishing touches on a non-fiction book she's written about a Chicago gangster.

Tod Hunter: Last time we spoke you guys were on your way to Belgium. What's happened since?

Sabrina Johnson: Well we moved, and it's going really good. We moved our business there, our photographic studio and our three cats have now multiplied to five cats. Things are going good. We've been there for three years now, just over three years, we still haven't learned Flemish, which is what they speak, but yeah, things are going good over there.

TH: I'm so glad, because you were not happy when we spoke last time. You [Graham] had just gotten out of jail, you were completely disgusted, ready to leave Britain. I'm glad it worked. How is it different in Belgium from the way it was in England?

SJ: Belgium's more open. Things that might not be legal on paper, the authorities just turn a blind eye to it. [Like] on the drugs issue. Cannabis isn't legal, but where's the harm in letting someone just smoke a joint on the street? They just use their common sense, where England they tend to jump on the bandwagon. "Ban all drugs. Prostitution? That's not allowed. Porn is going to corrupt our cities."

TH: They've turned around a little on that.

SJ: On paper, I think.

TH: Tell me about this new Elegant Angel series.

SJ: Well, it's called Sabrina Johnson, Can I F*ck You Too? We just finished shooting the first installment and that's what we're doing now, we're just going through the footage we shot and making editing notes and things like that. It's a neat concept; we're going 'round the streets and going into bars and clubs. Asking people about their sexual fantasies and what they like about sex, that kind of thing. We're also doing spur-of-the-moment things, like on-the-spot blowjobs and getting girls to show their tits and feeling guys up in the middle of the street...

TH: Really?

SJ: Whatever comes into my head to do, that's what I do. Or that's what I try to do, anyway. We were at an erotic fair in Ghent and we got a few girls to flash themselves. That's really the new concept, you know? That it's just getting ordinary people going about their daily business. We're just looking at the footage we've got and it's actually turned out better that we'd hoped. The ideas for the editing, the sort of effects that the editor can put in afterwards, will give it a completely unique look I think... We want this to be as real as possible. We say real-real rather than porn-real. We're not getting professional talent and just pretending that they're real people, these are real people. Obviously, occasionally we have to put them with professional talent so we get the scene that we want, but in the interviews, they're not told what to say. What you see is what you get.

TH: So it's like classic Gonzo then?

SJ: Yes, it's like a real-sex thing.

TH: What else is going on?

SJ: Outside of porn? I'm writing a book. It's about gangsters. A guy called Machine Gun Jack McGurn. He was a member of Al Capone's crew.

GJ: It's a phenomenal amount of research she's done. Three years of research

SJ: Over a year writing it. I've got over 5000 pages of research from the FBI. My mom thought I was crazy. "You're writing to the FBI? They'll have you on file."

GJ: It's the Freedom of Information Act. God knows what the postman thinks.
